Lawrence, Indiana, offers diverse walking and biking trails that wind through lush parks, wooded areas, and scenic landscapes. From paved paths perfect for cycling to tranquil nature trails, these routes provide a refreshing escape and outdoor adventure for all ages.

While Fort Harrison State Park contains the lion's share of the Lawrence trail offerings, the city is continuing to expand new trails for the citizens to enjoy!

Camp Creek Trail
Fort Harrison State Park

This trail begins off Harrison Trace near the eastern banks of Delaware Lake, eventually passing Duck Pond. This trail passes by an old army rubble pile and contains many beautiful vistas from the bluffs of the Camp Creek valley.

MODERATE - 2 MILES
Fall Creek Trail
Fort Harrison State Park

The trail follows the lowlands along Fall Creek, then heads uphill as it nears Duck Pond. Excellent for birding, fishing access, and wildflower and tree identification.

Harrison Trace Trail
Fort Harrison State Park

This is an asphalt-surface trail for walkers, bicyclists, and joggers. Expect some hills. Much of the trail is tree-covered, and wildflowers grow next to it during spring and summer. Parts of this trail are wheelchair accessible.

Lawrence Creek Trail
Fort Harrison State Park

The trail winds through upland woods and ravines. This is an excellent choice for observing fall color. This is a single-track, hiking, and bicycling trail. Bikers yield to hikers.

DIFFICULT - 4.2 MILES
Schoen Creek Trail
Fort Harrison State Park

This is a single-track, hiking and bicycling trail. Follow the mowed trail through wetland and prairie grasses.

DIFFICULT - 3 MILES
Tree Line Trail
Fort Harrison State Park

This mowed trail follows the outer edge of Millennium Grove picnic area in Camp Glenn. Look for wooden posts with metal signs to help you identify each type of tree along the route.

Community Park Walking Trail
Community Park

Lawrence’s largest city park, Lawrence Community Park is home to the Lawrence Soccer Complex, Lawrence Skate Park, Lawrence Community Activities Center, baseball fields, playgrounds, shelters, a sledding hill, and walking trails.

Fall Creek Greenway Extension Trail

This future trail will extend the Fall Creek Greenway by 1.83 miles. A paved multi-use path with a section of boardwalk connecting 63rd street and Lee Road to 71st Street and Fall Creek Parkway to the Upper Fall Creek Loop Trail.

Lee Rd & 63rd St Trail

This paved trail runs along Lee Road, turns east onto 63rd Street and ends at Winona Drive. It enhances connectivity between Fort Harrison State Park, Lee Road Park, Forest Glen Elementary, Ivy Tech, and local businesses around Fort Ben.

Lee Road Park

With four paths to take, the Lee Road Nature Trail offers a great place to relax in nature while walking, running or cycling. The entire path is paved and there are benches in various locations to rest.
