Lanesville, the oldest part of Lawrence, offers a unique blend of history and community spirit. Originally named after a prominent resident and located near the Bee Line Railroad and Pendleton Pike, the area was renamed Lawrence in 1866. In 1903, the federal government established Fort Benjamin Harrison on 2,000 acres north of the town, further shaping the area's development. Lanesville continues to combine its rich history with a vibrant community spirit, offering a unique living experience in Lawrence.
